B-Boy Benny

Alfred Burgess, also known as Bboy Benny from Cape Town, was born in 1987. This mixed-race South African dancer has participated in the Battle of the Year several times with the South African team, and with his crew Ubuntu, they secured the 6th place in the 2004 Battle of the Year competition. Benny has competed in the Red Bull BC One in Germany in 2005, as well as in 2007 and 2014. He is renowned as one of the leading B-boys in the industry. As part of the Hand Break Turn Crew, Benny helped them emerge victorious at the B-Boy World Cup in France in 2006. Benny embarked on his B-boy career in 2000, right after witnessing the Battle of the Year in South Africa for the first time. Having prior experience in dancing and gymnastics, B-boying became his passion. He drew inspiration from Isaac of Style Skills and his companion Hip Hopper Emile from Black Noise. Benny’s style is distinctly South African, with his signature move being the «Bridge 90.» He believes that the best battle strategy is simply to «Just Be Yourself.» Renowned for his intricate footwork combined with power moves delivered with originality, Benny consistently garners applause at any championship event.
